Mama's been really awful at updating this blog!
room
So sorry!

Since the new school term's started, it's been so hectic! Especially since there's some major works done by MPS & PKNS on the road near our house. The road is SOOOoo congested in the morning, and it'll be like that til May!!

So, Mama has resorted to making Aina leave for school earlier now to accomodate the traffic congestion so that Mama will not be late for work!

Alhamdulillah, Aina is easy. All Mama has to do, is explain and show her what will happen if we leave late, and she'll be fine. Every day, when Mama says it's time to go, she'll voluntarily switch off the tv and head downstairs to get her shoes.

Last night, she insisted on sleeping in her own room, and managed to stay all night without coming to Mama's room :)

But tonight, she's decided that she wants to sleep with Mama, so she's back in Mama's room, LOL!

Also, initially she wanted to be diaper-free tonight but decided to wear her diaper just as she climbed into  bed in Mama's room.... :p

As it is said that we should follow their cue, Mama's just following Aina's lead and we'll see what happens :)

I had sent Aina to Tokmi's on Saturday (at her insistence), and had to pick her up yesterday (Tuesday).

Why?

Qalesha had scratched her face again, as usual, when fighting over a toy, and so she wanted to go home. Actually, now that Aina has already started kindy, she seems to miss her friends when she goes off to Tokmi's. Pretty soon, I guess she'll have to stay home with Babah when Mama has to travel for work.

Anyway, she was really cute yesterday because:

1. she told Mama "i miss you 1 million!" when Mama asked if Aina missed Mama a lot or little while she was at Tokmi's;

2. she deduced that the security guard at our area "suka buat kerja dia pasal dia nak biskut Raya, kan Mama?", which made me laugh like mad!!; and

3. when I picked her up, she said she wanted to go to 'dickie' to see her teachers and friends. yup, she meant DAYCARE!!! :p

And so, this morning she wanted to go early, so we left the house around 7.10am. Not that early compared to usual (7.15am), but I actually managed to delay our departure a bit by getting her to help with some things before getting into the car. I was worried if we went too early, there won't be many of her friends yet....

Next week, Mama will be on leave so we'll get to spend some quality time together before the New Year. Yay!!

Aina's daycare was closed yesterday as it was a public holiday in Selangor ~ King's Birthday Party, as Aina put it!! LOL

So, Babah was the one who stayed home with Aina as Mama had to go to work.

What Aina did:

1. Wake Babah up to dress her SIX Barbies for the day

2. Ate breakfast (chocolate bun + chocolate milk) while watching her favourite cartoons ALL morning

3. Cried a bit when Babah made her tidy up her toys! :p

4. Helped Babah cook dinner ~ Babah gave her onions to cut, and she had to go back and forth to wash her hands and face as her eyes stung from the onions!!!

5. Managed to help Babah clean up the kitchen and tidy up her toys by the time Mama got home from work  :)

As soon as she saw me, she told me "mama, tadi Aina pedih..."  :p

Hope she will not be afraid/scared to 'face' onions later on!! LOL

All in all, she and babah survived...but seriously, it was almost noon by the time she had her 'morning' bath, Mama was obviously NOT thrilled!!

Aina made me laugh last night!

But, before that, she helped me when I turned my knee slightly while doing some work in the kitchen. She'd heard me screaming, and she came rushing down to see what happened to Mama. She was a bit shocked to see Mama sprawled on the kitchen floor, crying in pain!

I told her what she needed to get to hlep me, and so she ran upstairs, got my knee guard, and gave it to me.

Slowly I got up and prepared our dinner.

Then after our dinner of noodle soup, she went on to tell me about her day...

Aina: mama, tadi kan, aina marah kat school
Mama: hah? marah? kenapa?
Aina: haaa... aina garaaanngg, mcm mama!
Mama: aina marah siapa?
Aina: fren aina la!
Mama: kenapa?
Aina: sebab DIA CUBIT SAYA!
Mama: jadi aina marah mcm mana?
Aina: saya ckp, JANGAAANNNN LAA!!! *dengan muka kerut2, penuh emosi*
Mama: oowwhh ok ok... lenkali marah la lagi ok, pandai anak mama garang!

Ok. Fine. She is starting to stand up for herself, and that is good :)

I can't wait for our short weekend getaway, and hope she'll enjoy it very much  :p

I wanted to post an entry yesterday, but as usual, got caught up with work and life!

I am blessed and thankful for precious Aina for many reasons, and among them is that she has never been one to throw tantrums, whether at home or in public, if she does not get what she wants. Yes, she will cry, like kids normally do, but it's always possible to pacify her, and come up with a compromise.

Sometimes, she'll see something on TV and says she wants it, and I will usually tell her, "Mama takde duit sekarang, tunggu Mama dapat gaji ok", and Alhamdulillah, she's ok. If she remembers, when we go out, she'll ask, and if I say that I still don't have the money, she'll say "Takpe la mama, next time kan!"

Alhamdulillah, Ya Allah! for giving us Aina Nadira.

Yesterday, I picked her up from day care while the kids were having their afternoon tea, and she was halfway eating. I asked her what was it she had in her mouth and she told me, "Nasi Goreng Ikan Bilis. Sedap Mama, Aina nak makan lagi. Balik Mama cook pulak ok?" I was surprised because she usually avoids eating any sort of protein, ESPECIALLY (all species of) fish!

When we got home, I headed to the kitchen and made the fried rice specially for her, on top of cooking our own dinner, and she happily polished off her bowl. BUT, she wanted me to feed her! :)

Hubby was tickled at the way I 'entertained' Aina to make sure she ate ~ I'd feed her using a 'train', an 'aeroplane', a 'boat' and by 'bus'! e.g. I'd hold the spoon a short distance from her and start singing The Wheels On the Bus (short version of course!) to 'drive' the food into her mouth! LOL

She loves that! :D

Little things like that makes her happy, and I am glad to do those stuff for her. Like I said, I only wished that she'd grow up and know how much I love her, and if I could, I'd give her whatever she wanted...

*If only the excuses I gave were mere excuses...*

Monday, December 3, 2012

It's December 3, 2012.

My little Aina Nadira Mohd Nasir is already 4 1/2 years old.

I wish that I had started this sooner, but then again, she's already featured in my blogs (just search for zazook) and so I thought I'd create a page Just For Aina.

Last night, she was most mischievous! Babah and I had already begun 'brain-washing' her about sleeping in her own room soon, and she suddenly said, "Haaaa... nanti ada baby, kan mama??" in the cutest, most innocent way, that we all burst out laughing!

We're hoping to give Aina a sibling, doesn't matter a brother or sister, as long as she has someone to play with. It sometimes pulls at my heartstrings to see her playing and talking with just her Barbie dolls and huge collection of stuffed toys :'(

I consider myself lucky to have Aina because she never gave me any trouble from the time she made her presence inside my tummy, and Alhamdulillah, she's as active and cheeky now as any other 4 year old, and generally listens when I tell her not to do something. I say 'generally' because  if she's in the company of other kids, then forget it! she'll do whatever they do!!!

Her birthday will be in May, and even now I am already starting to think on what cake I should make (or order!) for her, what her party theme will be like, where will it be held, etc.

I had promised her that her birthday treat will be a visit to Kidzania, because one of her friends went, and told the whole school about it, and she obviously wants to go, too. Also, she has stated that she wants to go to Disneyland. The closest is Hong Kong, but even Hong Kong is not free! So, I'd explained to her that a trip to Disneyland was not in the pipeline for another couple or so years!

I wish I can give Aina all she wants, because as a child I had everything. But, one's life journey is seldom the same and a lot of turns in one's life will make certain things unattainable at that time, and so we make the best of our situation, and in that, hope that we have taught our child the meaning of family, and that it is quality of time spent and things we do together that counts, above all else.

Today, she's started day care after a week at Tokmi's and I can't wait to see what she has to say later when I pick her up :)
